Obituary: Douglas Austin Knight
Douglas Austin Knight, 45, of Scarborough, Maine, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2026, after a long struggle with multiple health issues. The former Nashua, N.H., native was born on Dec. 27, 1980, and was the beloved son of John and Meredith Knight.
He is survived by his parents and a close-knit family that includes his sister Noelle Knight and her husband Jonathan Madara, as well as their children, Daniel and Emily Madara. The family also remembers his sister, Jocelyn “Joy” Knight, who predeceased him.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 20 at noon at Hobbs Funeral Home, 671 U.S. Route 1 in Scarborough. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. The family invites friends and neighbors to share memories and sign the guestbook at the funeral home’s website: hobbsfuneralhome.com/obituaries.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Diabetes Association or to New England Donor Services at 60 First Ave., Waltham, MA 02451, which coordinates organ and tissue donation across New England. “Douglas gave the gift of life,” the family said, “and others may honor him by supporting that work.”
