Donald M. “Donnie” Wiggin, 72, of Saco, Passes Away

September 5, 2026 – Saco, Maine

Donald M. Wiggin, a beloved family man and long‑time resident of Saco, died on Sunday, September 5, 2026, at the age of 72. The news came as a shock to his many friends and relatives spread across Maine, Massachusetts, and beyond.

Wiggin had moved to Saco after spending many years in Waltham, Massachusetts, where he had been a familiar face in the community. He is survived by his wife, Mary (née McNiff) Wiggin; his two sons, Ben Wiggin of Framingham, Massachusetts, and his daughter‑in‑law, Becca, and Molly Moroney, who is married to Damien of Brighton. The Wiggin family also includes grandsons Theo and Sophia, and grandnephew Cillian Moroney. His brothers Jan, William F. Wiggin, Jr. (deceased), and Andrew F. Wiggin are also among the grieving kin.

A wake will be held for Wiggin on Saturday, October 3, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Joyce Funeral Home on 245 Main Street (Route 20) in Waltham. A formal funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m., after which the family will bury him at Mount Feake Cemetery, also in Waltham.

Family members and friends can find the obituary, guest register, and directions on the Joyce Funeral Home website at www.joycefuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Wiggin’s memory are encouraged to make donations to the Maine Cancer Foundation (www.mainecancer.org) or the Saco Food Pantry (www.sacofoodpantry.org).

Wiggin’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his legacy of love and community service will continue to inspire all who were fortunate to cross his path.
