Maine Woman, Catherine “Katy” Powers, Dies at 82
West Bath, Maine – Catherine “Katy” Powers, a longtime resident of West Bath, passed away on September 23, 2026, at the age of 82. She was survived by a large circle of family and friends, many of whom shared a lifelong bond with her.
Katy was married to Thomas Powers, who predeceased her. Together they raised a son, Coley Powers, who is married to Joanna. Her daughter, Molly Weir, lives with her husband Matthew, and they have a son, Duncan Weir, who is also a grandchild of Katy. The family also includes her sister, Helen Frost, and her husband, Bruce, as well as a dear, lifelong friend, Carla Burnham, and her husband Charles.
Other relatives who survived her include niece Laura Frost and nephews Allen Frost and Timothy Powers. Katy’s extended family is also rooted in Massachusetts, where many of her grandchildren and great‑grandchildren live.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to two charitable organizations that were close to Katy’s heart.
