Bethany Lynn (Joseph) Tuttle

WATERVILLE – Bethany Lynn (Joseph) Tuttle, 43, passed away on July 27, 2026.

Bethany was born on June 13, 1983 in Waterville to David and Tonda Joseph. She grew up in Waterville, graduating from Waterville High School and from Southern Maine Community College with her nursing degree.

She worked for many years as a nursing assistant at Mount St. Joseph, Inland Hospital and finally, Maine Medical Center, where she worked for nearly two decades as a registered nurse. Nursing was Bethany’s true calling. Her co-workers could not speak more highly of her and described her as a most excellent and knowledgeable nurse, strong, compassionate, a leader and so smart. They will remember her as a great friend, a wonderful nurse and co-worker. She was valued for her leadership, her nursing skills, no nonsense approach and her sense of humor. Bethany was always able to roll with the punches. Most of all, she was a dedicated advocate for her patients.

Bethany was always known for her great sense of humor and her infectious laugh. She was fun, loud and vibrant and loved to create art. She was genuine and kind with a big heart and will be remembered as a good person and a great friend with a beautiful soul—truly a wonderful person inside and out. Bethany left a mark on everyone she came across and was a ray of sunshine and hope to those who love her. She loved her work, her family, and her friends and will be cherished in the hearts of many.

Bethany was also so excited to be a mom and loved Wyatt and Ian with her whole heart. She often read and sang to her boys, they enjoyed doing arts and crafts together, and she enjoyed volunteering at their school–even coaching tee ball.

Bethany leaves behind her beloved sons, Wyatt and Ian; her dedicated co-parent, Jason; parents David and Tonda Joseph; sister, Joann; her rescue dog, Lulu; and many friends, especially her MMC/P3CD family, who loved her dearly.

A memorial service for Bethany will be held on Saturday, Aug. 29 at 11 a.m. at Blessed Hope Church in Waterville with a reception to follow.
