Obituary: Amy E. Caiazzo

Amy E. Caiazzo, 91, of North Yarmouth, passed away on May 29, 2026 after a brief illness.
Born in Portland in 1934, Amy graduated from Portland High School in 1952. While in high school she served as a majorette and enjoyed dancing, activities that reflected her lifelong enthusiasm for movement and community. She lived in Portland until 1986, when she moved to North Yarmouth, where she spent many quiet, contented years.
Amy’s life was defined by her devotion to family. She raised four children, doting on each of them, and later found joy in the simple pleasures that filled her days: reading, tending her garden, exploring antique shops and gathering with loved ones on weekends. Those close to her often noted her kindness, quiet strength and the free‑flowing love she gave without reservation.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. Caiazzo, and by her son, Peter J. Caiazzo. Amy is survived by her children Amy Jo C. Landry (husband Arthur), Michael Caiazzo, Joseph Caiazzo Jr. (wife Wendy) and Paul Caiazzo (wife Meg). Her legacy lives on through her nine grandchildren—Rachel Schaible, Adam Landry, Joseph Landry, Henry Caiazzo, Anthony Caiazzo, Michael Caiazzo Jr., Kayla Caiazzo, Ben Caiazzo and Victor Caiazzo—and five great‑grandchildren: Elsie, Flora and Viola Caiazzo, Joseph S. Landry and George Landry.
The family invites friends and relatives to share memories and offer condolences at the Lindquist Funeral Home. A celebration of Amy’s life will be planned for a later date.
Those who knew Amy remember her warmth, generosity and the steadiness with which she nurtured her family. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire all who were touched by her love.
