Tristan Miniutti rushed for three touchdowns as Noble kept its playoff hopes alive with a 51-8 win over Scarborough in a Class A South regular-season finale Thursday night in Scarborough.

The Knights (4-5) used a relentless ground game to dominate the Red Storm (0-9). Quarterback Mark LaPointe ran for two TDs and set up one with a 55-yard run. Carter Ouellette opened the scoring with a 2-yard run, and lineman Jase Pata even got into the scorebook with a 1-yard plunge after Miniutti was ruled out of bounds just short of the goal line on a 54-yard run.

Miniutti’s touchdowns were from 4, 3 and 26 yards. Noble also got a safety in the second quarter en route to a 30-0 lead.

Scarborough scored with 1.2 seconds left in the first half when Aiden Carpenter made a leaping catch in the back of the end zone for a 20-yard TD after quarterback Oscar Goss rolled out to his right under pressure.

Noble went into the game holding the fourth and final playoff spot in the Class A South Crabtree standings, but South Portland can overtake the Knights if it beats Portland on Friday night. If South Portland loses, the No. 4 seed would be determined by the outcome of games involving Noble and South Portland opponents.
