Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Keenan Allen arrested on DUI charges

Indianapolis, Indiana – Indianapolis Colts star wide receiver Keenan Allen was taken into custody by police on Sunday morning for a DUI arrest. According to Indianapolis jail records, the 34‑year‑old was booked on two misdemeanor charges: DWI/DUI/OWI‑Endanger Person and DWI/DUI/OWI‑ACE .08 or More.

The arrest reportedly occurred at around 1 a.m. local time, after Allen’s night in the city. Police said the driver’s blood alcohol concentration exceeded the legal limit of .08, and authorities cited endangerment to others as a separate offense. No injuries were reported.

“We are aware of the incident involving Keenan Allen last night,” the Colts’ public‑relations office said in a statement released to OutKick. “We are in the process of gathering more information and have no further comment at this time.”

The Colts have yet to confirm whether Allen will be suspended or face disciplinary action from the league. The team’s representatives have not yet issued a public statement.

Allen signed with the Colts on a one‑year, $3.3 million contract during the offseason. He joined the franchise with the intent of adding veteran depth to a receiving corps that includes Alec Pierce and Josh Downs. In the 2026 season, the Colts are hoping Allen can compete for a starting role.

The wide‑outsider’s career has largely unfolded with the Los Angeles Chargers, where he spent 11 seasons before a brief stint with the Chicago Bears in 2024. Allen is a six‑time Pro Bowler, earning honors from 2017 to 2021 and again in 2023. He has accumulated 1,055 catches for 12,051 yards and 70 touchdowns over his career.

The incident comes at a time when the Colts are dealing with roster uncertainty on offense. Quarterback Daniel Jones, who had been set to start the 2026 campaign, suffered a season‑ending ACL injury last year. Jones went 8-5 as a starter before the setback, and the Colts are still searching for stability at the quarterback position.

While the arrest is a serious matter, no further details have been released about the circumstances leading up to Allen’s stop. The Colts’ statement suggests the organization is gathering information before taking any action.

For fans and analysts, the arrest adds another layer of complexity to the Colts’ efforts to build a cohesive offense. Whether Allen will return to the field, and if so, under what conditions, remains to be seen as the team moves toward the upcoming season.
