Missing Montville man found safe by warden service K-9 team

Maine Warden K‑9 Team Locates Missing Montville Man After Overnight Search
A 46‑year‑old Montville resident was found safe and sound nearly a mile from his home on Monday morning, after a Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife warden and her K‑9 partner combed the forest in heavy rain.
Michael McCoy left his house on Sunday afternoon with his two dogs around 5:45 p.m. The evening after he failed to return, one of his pets came back home without him. Friends and neighbors began a search that evening, but were unable to locate McCoy or the second dog.
The Department’s Warden Service K‑9 teams arrived on the scene in the late evening, tackling strong wind and driving rain. Warden Dory Kulis and her dog Lucy tracked the missing man and his companion in a wooded area roughly three‑quarters of a mile from his home. Kulis located McCoy at about 2:10 a.m. Monday.
“McCoy was soaked from the driving rain,” said Mark Latti, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife. “He was escorted back to his residence, but he did not require medical treatment.”
Maine State Police assisted the warden team during the search and recovery operation.
McCoy was found unharmed after spending the night in a remote, wet area. The quick response from neighbors, the Department’s K‑9 unit, and state police helped bring him home safely.
