Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union has announced the four recipients of its annual Rochel “Russ” Livernois Memorial Scholarship, each receiving a $2,500 award. The scholarship program, created in 2000, honors the credit union’s former treasurer and manager, Rochel “Russ” Livernois, who served from 1959 through 1985.

The winners are Lillianna Larochelle of Freeport High School, Samuel Liudvinaitis of Lisbon High School, Liam Ennis of Monmouth Academy, and Isabella Rich of Maine Connections Academy. Larochelle plans to study exercise science at Plymouth State University, Liudvinaitis will pursue library science at the University of Maine at Augusta, Ennis will major in electrical engineering at the University of Maine at Orono, and Rich will study welding at the New England Institute of Technology.

Sarah Perkins, president and CEO of the credit union, said, “We are incredibly proud of these remarkable students. Their dedication and passion for making a positive impact in their communities are truly inspiring. We are honored to support them as they take the next steps in their educational journeys.”

Each applicant submitted an essay describing how their education will help them make a positive impact in their communities. The selection committee considered academic achievement, community involvement, and commitment to higher education.

The Livernois Scholarship Fund was established to help local graduating seniors realize their dreams.
