Mason White lifts Sea Dogs past Fisher Cats

Mason White homered twice to lead the Portland Sea Dogs to a 9-6 win over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats in an Eastern League game on Sunday in Manchester, New Hampshire.
White hit a solo home run in the second inning and a three-run shot in the fifth. He was 3 for 4 with four RBI and three runs scored.
Portland salvaged a split of the six-game series with New Hampshire and improves to 22-17 in the second half, 57-50 overall.
Max Ferguson lead off the top of the third with a triple and scored on an RBI single by Ahbram Liendo to give Portland a 2-1 lead. Miguel Bleis followed with a single and Will Turner hit a three-run home run to right to make it 5-1.
New Hampshire answered with a solo home run by Carter Cunningham in the bottom of the third, but Ferguson hit an RBI double in the top of the fourth and White’s homer in the fifth made it 9-2.
Victor Arias hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth for New Hampshire. Cunningham walked and scored on a passed ball in the seventh.
Portland starts at six-game series against Binghamton at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Hadlock Field in Portland.
