During my term as the chair of the Scarborough Town Council, we were on the heels of a new school referendum defeat. Mary Shannon Lindstrom was chair of the Scarborough Board of Education, and we immediately got to work on a new process in pursuit of a solution that the community could embrace.
She was integral in implementing a process our community members had faith in — that government and its representatives will listen to the people. With those tireless efforts and with the help of volunteer community members, Scarborough successfully passed a new school bond last year.
Shannon personifies all that we would want in a political leader. She is caring, thoughtful, engaged and driven. She understands the impact our decisions have on our seniors, business leaders, parents and children alike. I have full confidence that Scarborough will be best represented in Augusta with Shannon representing District 124.
