Maine’s Role Model signs album for fans at Bull Moose

Pop singer Tucker Pillsbury, who uses the stage name Role Model, signed copies of his new album “Chuck Timely & The Hourglass” at the South Portland Bull Moose store on Saturday.
The event took place the day after his Friday night sold-out album release show at Thompson’s Point in Portland.
About 300 people who had pre-ordered the “Chuck” album were granted access to the store, which was otherwise closed to the public from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Among them was Amber Nacyk, 24, of South Portland. While in line waiting for the signing to start, she talked about the concert. “It was amazing with very fun energy, and I could tell he was having a good time,” she said.
Another fan was Scarlett McLaughlin, 24, from Brunswick, who said she had seen Pillsbury perform under the name Dillis a decade ago on the Maine State Pier, and had photos on her phone from that performance. She said she was hoping to chat with him about that show, while also complimenting him on the Thompson’s Point one, which she described as “great.”
As fans streamed out of the shop with a signed album or CD, it was all smiles. Some were shaking, others close to tears while gushing to one another and sharing phone selfies.

Kayla Jarry, 26, from Biddeford, tipped her hat to Bull Moose for running such an organized event. She described Pillsbury as very personable. “He really took time with everyone.”
“It was a super cool experience and awesome to meet one of my favorite artists,” said Emily Tucker, 22, from Old Orchard Beach.
“I got to shake his hand and he said my name was super cute,” said Laci Hall, 22, from Old Orchard Beach.

Briyanna Lubo, 22, lives in New York City. She came to Maine for the concert, but by the time she heard about the Bull Moose event, it was sold out. Her plan B was to catch him outside the store when he arrived.
It worked.

Visibly trembling, Lubo held up her phone, which Pillsbury had scrawled the word “diva” onto with a black Sharpie. “Diva” is a tongue-in-cheek facet of Pillsbury’s Role Model persona and a term he also applies to his fans.
Leading up to the concert and the signing, Pillsbury was in New York City where he appeared Thursday on the “Today” show and “The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.”
