Maine Matters 2026

Read all of our coverage of Maine's 2026 election or stay up to date with the latest developments through the Maine Political Report in your inbox or text messages from politics editor Kirby Wilson.

Kindness and compassion are public goods. This Republican president, aided by a do-nothing Republican Congress, has focused on faithlessness, greed, bellicosity and cruelty. Nothing in that formula is faithful to the purposes of good government as laid out in the preamble to the Constitution.

There is nothing “radical” about having an affordable home, being able to feed our families and having affordable access to healthcare. There is nothing “radical” about promoting the general welfare, as the Constitution mandates.

What is radical is a Republican administration that undertakes unwise and unnecessary offensive aggression, rather than merely providing for the common defense, as the Constitution stipulates; and unjustifiably kills people in our own streets with an unaccountable agency.

If we want to secure the blessings of liberty, namely peace, prosperity and justice, we must vote Democratic. Make America Good Again, by voting for Troy Jackson, Hannah Pingree and Matt Dunlap.
