Critics Demand New Probe into Alleged Misappropriation at Fund, Despite 2024 Findings

In the wake of a 2024 investigation that found no legal violations, supporters of a local charitable fund are urging state authorities to reopen the case over allegations that donated money was misappropriated.

The investigation, conducted in 2024 by a state-appointed panel, concluded that all financial records and fund‑management practices complied with applicable laws. The panel found no evidence of wrongdoing and cleared the fund’s administrators of any legal misconduct.

Despite the panel’s findings, a group of critics—comprising former donors, community leaders, and watchdog groups—have called for a fresh, independent review. They argue that the investigation may have overlooked internal financial irregularities and that the alleged misappropriation of donations warrants closer scrutiny.

“We believe the previous investigation did not address all the concerns raised by donors,” said one critic, who asked to remain anonymous. “We want transparency and accountability, especially when people’s contributions are at stake.”

The critics have highlighted specific instances they claim show funds were diverted from their intended charitable purposes. While the 2024 investigation found no legal breaches, the critics maintain that the matter involves serious ethical concerns that merit additional inquiry.

State officials have yet to comment on whether a new investigation will be authorized. The fund’s board, however, has reiterated its commitment to full disclosure and cooperation with any forthcoming inquiries.

As the debate continues, the community watches closely, hoping that any additional review will either reinforce the fund’s reputation for integrity or bring necessary reforms to ensure donor trust is upheld.
