Luke Daley Arrested Again on Unrelated Charges, Pima County Authorities Say

TUCSON, Ariz. – Pima County officials announced that 37‑year‑old Luke Daley was booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Complex on September 30 2026. Daley’s detention is unrelated to the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the 84‑year‑old mother of “Today” co‑host Savannah Guthrie.

“Luke Daley was booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Complex on September 30, 2026. This is unrelated to the Nancy Guthrie case,” a spokesperson for the Pima County Sheriff’s Department told Fox News Digital. Daley’s arrest follows a long record of criminal activity, including felony convictions, pending drug and firearm charges and an ongoing effort by prosecutors to revoke his probation.

A Troubled Past

Daley’s criminal history is extensive. He has faced multiple felony convictions over the past decade, and at the time of his recent booking he was already facing drug‑related charges and a pending firearms charge. In addition, he was on probation for another case involving drug and weapon violations, and prosecutors have requested that the probation be revoked.

A Brief Link to the Guthrie Investigation

In February 2026, the Tucson police pulled Daley over in a Culver’s parking lot and subsequently raided his mother’s home. The raid was part of the investigation into the kidnapping of Nancy Guthrie, who disappeared from her home about two miles away in Tucson’s Catalina Foothills neighborhood. Hours later, Daley was released without charges.

Daley’s attorney, Chris Scileppi, was quoted following the release: “Mr. Daley has no link whatsoever to Nancy Guthrie and has no information related to her kidnapping. Like the entire Tucson community, both Mr. Daley and his mother are hopeful that Nancy will be returned to her family unharmed.”

The Unsolved Case of Nancy Guthrie

Nancy Guthrie has been missing since March 2026, and her disappearance remains unsolved. Investigators have not publicly identified a suspect, and the woman’s whereabouts are still unknown. A masked intruder was caught on a Nest Doorbell camera on the day of the abduction, and two ransom notes have circulated—one demanding payment and another claiming that Mrs. Guthrie had died. Neither set of notes has been verified, and the sender(s) remain unknown.

The case has attracted national attention. The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Tucson Crime Stoppers affiliate are actively seeking information. Anyone with details is urged to contact the FBI’s tip line at 1‑800‑CALL‑FBI or to call Tucson Crime Stoppers at 520‑88‑CRIME.

Over $1.2 million in reward money is still unclaimed for leads that could solve the case. Police officials have made it clear that the search continues, and community members have organized additional neighborhood sweeps to locate any clues that may have been missed during earlier investigations.

Current Legal Proceedings

While the new arrest is unrelated to the Guthrie case, Daley’s legal situation is evolving. Prosecutors have petitioned to have his probation revoked due to the pending drug and firearm charges, and he now faces new criminal proceedings that could result in additional prison time.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department remains focused on the unsolved kidnapping, noting that “no one is permanently ruled out as a suspect.” Meanwhile, the community continues to wait for any breakthrough that might bring Nancy Guthrie home safely.
