Lindstrom is the right choice to represent Scarborough | Letter

I am writing to enthusiastically endorse Mary Shannon Lindstrom for state representative for Scarborough. Shannon is a proven leader who as chair of the Scarborough Board of Education has played a critical role in ensuring that our schools remain excellent and adequately funded. She has seen the board through challenging budget cycles, and was a major contributor to the lengthy but successful effort to arrive at a school modernization and expansion solution that an overwhelming majority of the community — including many who were initially skeptical — could support.

I have found Shannon to be a pragmatic consensus-builder with an impressive work ethic, and I’ve appreciated her efforts to build connections with the Town Council (which I chair) and other stakeholders. Her skills and approach would serve her and her constituents well in Augusta, where hot-button issues like school funding formulas and property tax relief will continue to be top priorities.

Now more than ever, we need leaders who can think independently and work inclusively. Please join me in voting for Shannon for the State House in November.
