Kevin Bacon pleads for help recovering missing FedEx package rerouted multiple times around the globe

Kevin Bacon’s Old Clothes Get Stuck on a Worldwide Shipping Odyssey
Hollywood star Kevin Bacon has found himself the center of an international delivery mystery, after a box of sentimental clothing shipped from New York never made it to his Irish film set.
Bacon, who is 68, said that the items—an assortment of boots, jeans and hats he had kept since the 1990s—were sent to the United Kingdom in October, but the package bounced from country to country and ultimately ended up in a warehouse in Ireland where it has sat for days.
“I’m working in Ireland right now, and I needed to send a few old clothes over here so I could pack light,” Bacon told his Twitter followers on Sunday. “I don’t buy a lot of clothes and I’ve had these pieces for years.”
He added that he used a courier “that rhymes with Bread X” (the company is FedEx) and shipped the box on September 26 from upstate New York. The journey was a winding one: the package was routed first to Memphis, Tennessee, then to France and Germany by the end of September, before being forwarded to Israel on September 29.
On October 3 the parcel went back to France, then to Israel again, and subsequently to Germany on October 5. It returned to Israel on October 6, traveled to France on October 10, and arrived in the United Kingdom on October 11. “Pretty close,” Bacon said, “and on the same day it left the UK and headed straight to Ireland.”
“Now it’s been sitting there for five days and they say they can’t deliver it,” the actor said, frustration clear in his tone. “I don’t understand why. It’s just sitting there.” He added that he had been unable to reach anyone by phone or email and that the lack of a resolution was “pushing me to the brink.”
Bacon noted the sentimental value of the items: “I could buy new ones, but I want these. I’ve had them since the ’90s.” He also remarked, “It’s starting to get cold here, and I don’t want to keep these in a warehouse.”
FedEx representatives did not immediately answer requests for comment. The company has issued a separate apology and said it is in direct contact with Bacon’s team to retrieve the package and is reviewing how the delivery went wrong.
The actor, best known for his roles in Footloose and Tremors, has expressed his disappointment publicly on social media, hoping the courier can rectify the situation before the colder months set in. Whether the misdirected clothing will finally reach Bacon’s Irish set remains to be seen.
