Jack Osbourne Sets Record Straight After Body‑Shaming Allegations

In a recent Instagram video, 40‑year‑old television personality Jack Osbourne addressed a wave of criticism that has followed him since his appearance on the UK reality series I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! The star, who spent six months in a jungle camp in 2023, said he has not lost weight since leaving the show and is content with his current size.

The clip, posted on the actor’s account on July 18, was a direct rebuttal to media reports that called him “grossly underweight” and “sick.” Osbourne’s tone was candid and unapologetic. “I can’t believe I’m having to actually make this video,” he told viewers, adding that his weight has remained steady at 155 pounds for the past six months. “I’ve shaved my beard and opted for a mustache—nothing else has changed.”

He also highlighted that the criticism he has received for being overweight is a long‑standing issue. “I’ve been the subject of brutalized coverage for being overweight all my life,” Osbourne said, noting that his body has been in the public eye since his early career as an actor and later as a television host. “I’m not down to a new weight, but I’m at a healthy 155 pounds for a 5‑foot‑8‑half man.”

The 40‑year‑old, who has spoken publicly about his weight‑loss journey for the past three and a half years, recalled his peak weight of around 220 pounds in 2019. “When I saw that number on the scale, I decided that I wanted to make some changes, so I did,” he said. “But that change was about losing fat, not getting underweight.”

Osbourne’s comments were prompted by a flurry of social‑media posts that labeled him as “underweight” and urged him to lose more. While the video is directed at the press and online commenters, Osbourne used a sharp tone to dismiss the criticism, telling journalists and “body shamers” that they were “getting f‑ked.”

The discussion did not stay confined to Jack Osbourne. His sister, actress and television personality Kelly Osbourne, recently faced a similar backlash after her appearance at the BRIT Awards. Social‑media users posted negative remarks about her physique, one user commenting, “Ditch the Ozempic, eat a burger.” Kelly posted screenshots of these messages to her Instagram stories, condemning the remarks as “disgusting” and a “special kind of cruelty.” She described the comments as an absence of compassion and expressed her determination not to allow herself to be dehumanized.

While the controversies involve different families, the underlying issue is the same: public scrutiny and body‑shaming of celebrities. Jack Osbourne’s recent statement underscores his frustration with the relentless focus on his appearance. “I’m at a healthy weight,” he insisted, “and I’m not going to let others dictate how I should look.”

The video has sparked a conversation about the pressures faced by public figures and the need for respectful dialogue. For now, Osbourne remains firm in his position, choosing to confront criticism head‑on rather than retreat from the spotlight. The broader discussion about body image and media representation continues to unfold, with many calling for more understanding and less judgment in the age of social media.
