Hugh Jackman makes surprise appearance at Ogunquit Playhouse

Broadway and film star Hugh Jackman made a surprise appearance Monday night at an Ogunquit Playhouse fundraising gala.
Jackman appeared on stage to sing a duet with Tony Award winner Sutton Foster, according to the venue. Sutton was the gala’s headliner and had starred with Jackman in a Broadway revival of “The Music Man.”

Jackman and Sutton performed “Doodlin’ Song” and “A Million Dreams.” The latter was from the 2017 film “The Greatest Showman,” starring Jackman.
The sold-out gala raised more than $3 million in support of the theater’s “The Next Century Campaign.” In June, Ogunquit residents voted to support a zoning change that will allow for a $62 million renovation and expansion of the Ogunquit Playhouse. The theater’s main building is nearly 90 years old. The plans include winterization of the playhouse, the addition of an outdoor patio, more comfortable seating and additional restrooms.
