Historical photos show Gloria Steinem in Maine over 3 decades

Activist and author Gloria Steinem died on Sept. 3 at the age of 92.
Steinem became one of the most visible symbols and potent voices of the women’s movement in the U.S. and a fierce advocate for feminist causes throughout her life. A co-founder of Ms. magazine, she was a hugely recognizable presence wherever she went. Much of her life as an advocate was spent on the road, speaking at college campuses and community centers, at rallies and marches.
Steinem spoke in Maine several times, and was photographed on three separate occasions during appearances here in 1975, 1997 and 2013.
