Bucci allowed four hits, struck out seven and didn’t walk a batter. Jacoby Porter and Milo Matson each had three hits, an RBI and a run scored for the Navigators (11-6), who advance to face No. 1 Gorham in the quarterfinals on Thursday. Mason Pechinski and Ben Robbins both drove in two runs, and Pechinski hit a triple. Atticus Dixon had two hits for Bonny Eagle (9-8). **YARMOUTH 2, POLAND 1:** Tyler Emerson pitched a three-hitter while striking out eight and walking none to lead the sixth-seeded Clippers (10-7) past the 11th-seeded Knights (7-10) in a Class B South preliminary-round game in Yarmouth. Yarmouth advances to face No. 3 Greely in the quarterfinals on Thursday. Advertisement Iggy McGrath had two hits, including a two-run single in the fifth inning. Gabe Janczuk and Jack Estabrook each hit a double. Cade Johnson put Poland ahead in the fourth inning with an RBI single. **LAKE REGION 7, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 6:** Jaiden Meehan had three hits and scored the go-ahead run on an error in the bottom of the fifth inning as the fifth-seeded Lakers (12-5) beat the 12th-seeded Falcons (7-10) in a Class B South preliminary-round game in Naples. Dylan Blair had an RBI single in the fourth inning to tie the game for Lake Region, which advances to play No. 4 Cape Elizabeth in the quarterfinals on Thursday. Blair also pitched 4 1/3 innings of relief to earn the win. He allowed three runs (two earned) on three hits while striking out six and walking one. **SANFORD 11, KENNEBUNK 2:** Brady Boissonneault had three hits, Brody Baron recorded two hits and three RBI, and the sixth-seeded Spartans (12-5) beat the 11th-seeded Rams (6-11) in a Class A South preliminary-round game in Sanford. Advertisement Sanford next faces No. 3 Cheverus in the quarterfinals on Thursday. Cayden Gendron allowed two runs (one earned) in five innings to earn the win. He added two RBI and three runs scored. Collin Sevigny contributed two hits. Jack Joyce had two hits and Theo Adams smacked a double for Kennebunk. **YORK 5, WELLS 4:** Sam Jancovic hit an RBI single to drive in the tying run and scored on an infield single by Alex Dimino in the sixth inning to lift the eighth-seeded Wildcats (10-7) past the ninth-seeded Warriors (7-10) in York. York advances to face No. 1 Fryeburg Academy in the quarterfinals on Thursday. Wells took a 3-0 lead in the first inning on a three-run homer by Owen Bonenfant.  Advertisement York got on the board in the bottom of the first when Robbie Hanscom singled and was driven in by Henry Ober. Aydan Collins belted a solo home run in the third for Wells, before Orrin Culp Dechant hit a two-run single in the bottom of the inning for York. Hanscom pitched a complete game to earn the win, allowing four earned runs on four hits while striking out five and walking two. **SCARBOROUGH 3, MARSHWOOD 2:** Cam Dean pitched the final six innings in relief and scored the winning run on a single by Kayson Cyr in the bottom of the seventh inning as the fifth-seeded Red Storm (12-4-1) escaped with a Class A South preliminary-round victory over the No. 12 Hawks (5-12) in Scarborough. The Red Storm pushed across two runs in the bottom of the seventh after Marshwood took a 2-1 lead with two runs in the top half. Patrick Guite led Scarborough with three hits. Cyr and Finn Coburn each added two hits. Advertisement Jack Eardley had two hits for Marshwood. Michael Sbrizza went the distance on the mound, recording seven strikeouts. Scarborough will play No. 4 Thornton Academy in the quarterfinals on Thursday. SOFTBALL **SOUTH PORTLAND 8, MARSHWOOD/BERWICK/TRAIP 4:** Jillian Edgar was 3 for 4 with three RBI and three runs scored, and the seventh-seeded Red Riots (11-6) advanced to the Class A South quarterfinals by defeating the 10th-seeded Hawks (6-11) in South Portland. Rachel DiMauro also notched three hits, including a triple, and drove in two runs to help the Red Riots set up a clash against No. 2 Bonny Eagle on Thursday.  South Portland took control early, scoring two runs in the first inning and three in the second for a 5-1 lead. Laurali Shisler was 2 for 4 with two runs scored for the Hawks, who closed to within 5-4 in the fifth before the Red Riots pulled away again with one run in the bottom of the fifth and two in the sixth. Advertisement **GREELY 14, YARMOUTH 4:** CJ Gorham was 3 for 3 with three RBI and three runs scored, Quinn Simpson drilled a two-run homer, and the eighth-seeded Rangers (12-5) earned a five-inning mercy-rule win over the ninth-seeded Clippers (9-8) in a Class B South preliminary-round game in Cumberland. Simpson, Avery Enos and Katie Wallace all finished with two hits. Enos drove in three runs, and Wallace had two RBI and two runs scored. Greely broke the game open with an eight-run fourth inning. The Rangers advance to play top-seeded Medomak Valley in the quarterfinals on Thursday. Tessie Sanford-Wardwell was 2 for 2 with two RBI and two runs scored for Yarmouth. GIRLS LACROSSE **WINDHAM 22, SOUTH PORTLAND 2:** Abby Trainor scored seven goals and set up four, leading the third-seeded Eagles (13-2) past the 14th-seeded Red Riots (4-11) in a Class A preliminary-round game in Windham. Neve Ledbetter added three goals and four assists for the defending state champions. Brooklyn Roy and Olivia McPherson and Mady Donnelly also netted three goals. Advertisement Charlie Savage and Donnelly Maloji scored for South Portland. **MT. ARARAT 8, WESTBROOK 5:** Avery Creek tallied three goals, Jaelyn Jensen and Mia Madsen both scored twice, and the 10th-seeded Eagles (7-8) knocked off the seventh-seeded Blue Blazes (10-5) in a Class B preliminary-round game in Westbrook. Mt. Ararat, last year’s state runner-up, next takes on No. 2 Messalonskee in the quarterfinals. Lyla Dunphe led Westbrook with two goals. **FREEPORT 17, HAMPDEN CO-OP 1:** Keeley Furtney led a balanced offense with three goals, and the sixth-seeded Falcons (9-6) cruised to a Class B preliminary-round win over 11th-seeded Hampden/Brewer/George Stevens/Hermon (6-9) in Freeport. Karleigh Costello, Isla Pattershall and Ella Tracy each scored twice, and eight others contributed one goal for the reigning state champions, who next play third-seeded Camden Hills in the quarterfinals.
