Camden Hills overwhelm Oxford Hills 6‑0 in Paris
In a dominant performance at the Paris high‑school field hockey field, the Camden Hills Windjammers defeated the Oxford Hills Vikings 6‑0. Alison Sylvester was the star of the night, scoring a hat‑trick that accounted for more than half of the Windjammers’ tally. Alanna Smith added two goals and Carly Fitzpatrick chipped in with one more, giving Camden a comprehensive win.
Oxford Hills’ goalkeeper, Kya Smith, made a solid 14 saves, but it was not enough to keep the scoreline closer. The victory gives Camden a strong boost heading into the rest of the season.
Boothbay tops Hall‑Dale/Monmouth 4‑0 in Farmingdale
Boothbay’s Seahawk squad opened the season with a clean sweep of the Hall‑Dale/Monmouth Bulldogs in Farmingdale. The Seahawks’ four‑goal performance was evenly distributed, as Olivia Hardwick, Mariah Smith, Isabelle Andreasen, and Lilly Ann Cowing each found the back of the net. Boothbay’s goalie, Abigail Locke‑Smith, kept a perfect shutout, stopping every shot from the Bulldogs and preserving the 4‑0 advantage that was secured early in the first quarter.
All three games showcase the depth and talent of Maine’s high‑school field hockey programs, and the players’ performances promise an exciting remainder of the season.
