Scarborough's Wren Bodah scored the game-winning goal in overtime, securing a 2-1 victory over South Portland in the Class A South girls soccer semifinal. The top-seeded Hurricanes, now 15-0-1, will advance to the regional final.

The dramatic moment came at 12:37 of overtime. Josie Duncan launched a long free kick from nearly 40 yards out. South Portland keeper Maizie Savage made a spectacular leaping save, but the ball rebounded off the crossbar and landed right in front of the net. Bodah dashed in to tap it home for the winner.

Scarborough had taken an early lead in the 10th minute when Scarlett Floyd intercepted a pass and fired a shot into the lower right corner. South Portland, however, managed to tie the game with just six seconds remaining in the first half. A perfect corner kick from Mackie Ramsell was headed into the net by Sasha Neff.

Savage was outstanding in goal for South Portland, making 15 saves. Scarborough’s Vera DiSotto stopped two shots.

In other Class A South semifinal action, Kennebunk edged Windham 2-1. Ava McCourt scored the go-ahead goal with 4:46 left, lofting a shot into the far corner. Windham had taken the lead earlier when Logan Curry scored, but Kennebunk’s Natalie Elia tied the game just 46 seconds later.

In Class C South, Mt. Abram’s Evelyn Pepin scored on a penalty kick with one second left in the second overtime to defeat Traip Academy 2-1. Pepin also scored in the first half, while Traip’s Lucy Gingras tied the game. Mt. Abram will face Maranacook in the final.

In boys’ soccer, Thornton Academy beat South Portland 2-1 in overtime, with Matthias Sunderland scoring on a penalty kick late in the first overtime. Falmouth upset Scarborough 3-2 in a penalty kick tiebreaker, while Pine Tree Academy defeated Temple Academy 8-0. In another Class C South boys’ semifinal, Mt. Abram beat Waynflete 3-1.
