Here’s what North Yarmouth voters will see on the ballot

Maine voters will head to the polls on Nov. 3 for the 2026 election, with absentee voting already underway. In North Yarmouth, residents can vote in person at Wescustogo Hall and the North Yarmouth Community Center, both open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day.
Beyond the federal and gubernatorial races, North Yarmouth ballots include county and state legislative contests. A complete ballot and candidate details are available in the 2026 Maine Voter Guide.
One of the local races is for Cumberland County Commissioner District 3, which includes North Yarmouth. The five-member board of commissioners, each elected to four-year terms, oversees the county’s financial operations, approved budgets, and county property. Two candidates are running for the seat.
Amy Leshure, a Democrat, cites her top three priorities as responsible budgeting and long‑term fiscal stability; building stronger partnerships with municipalities and the state to share services, reduce duplication, and secure sustainable funding; and right‑sizing the county jail by strengthening behavioral health, substance‑use, and public safety services. She says, “I am running because county government has a meaningful impact on our communities. I bring more than 20 years of financial and operational experience and a collaborative leadership style. I will use this experience to strengthen fiscal oversight, increase transparency and help Cumberland County work more effectively with municipalities to solve our regional challenges.”
Robert P. Vail, an independent, lists his priorities as expanding county services to reduce local taxes, standardizing first‑responder training across the county, and including school departments in regionalization to offset rising costs. He explains, “The challenges facing us today, whether housing, social issues, job creation, aging, childcare, lack of a workforce in our police, fire, rescue and public works departments need to have different approaches, and I believe I can contribute to that end.”
On the state level, Anne Palmer Graham is unopposed for reelection to the Maine House of Representatives in District 105. Teresa S. Pierce is also unopposed, seeking another term in the Maine Senate representing District 25, which includes North Yarmouth.
