Five Guys moving into former Bull Moose in Windham

The former site of Windham’s Bull Moose is set to be converted into a Five Guys location.
According to a sign posted on a window at 771 Roosevelt Trail, a permit for interior renovations was issued by Windham Code Enforcement Officer Megan Bowden on Aug. 24. The former Bull Moose site has been vacant since the store closed at the end of January.
No opening date has been announced, although job postings for assistant general manager and restaurant shift manager positions have been posted on Indeed.
Five Guys did not respond to a request for comment Thursday.
Bull Moose was a North Windham institution for 35 years. Officials cited “the realities of the space (making) it increasingly difficult to serve our customers and staff the way we believe they deserve” for the closing.
Prior to the closure of the North Windham branch, Bull Moose, which has 10 locations throughout Maine and New Hampshire, saw its downtown Portland location shuttered by the COVID-19 pandemic.
