Ex-Dem insider reveals why Biden's daughter threatened to sue her: 'Bordered on parody'

Ashley Biden, the daughter of former President Joe Biden and former first lady Jill Biden, threatened to sue a former top Democratic fundraiser who said the Biden family concealed Joe Biden’s cognitive decline during the 2024 presidential campaign, according to the fundraiser’s new book and interviews.
Lindy Li, who later changed her party affiliation after saying her warnings about the former president were ignored, said Ashley Biden posted the legal threat on Instagram in February 2025. Li described the episode in her book, “Unburdened,” and provided screenshots of the post to Fox News Digital. She said the post was removed about a day after it was published.
In the post, Ashley Biden wrote: “This woman is a bonavide [sic] liar. Karma is a real bad b-, Lindy. I don’t know you but can’t wait to meet your a- in court. Ready for a lawsuit? Let’s go! I won’t put up with this BS anymore.”
Li said the message amounted to an attempt to intimidate her into silence.
“They wanted to scare me. That was the goal,” Li told Fox News Digital.
Li, who worked as a top fundraiser for both Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, said she had routine access to the White House before she went public with concerns about the president’s age and his decision to run for reelection. She said that all changed after she said on television that Biden should step aside.
“I knew that if I spoke up my life would be ruined and frankly, in that respect, it was. I was never invited to the White House again, never spoke to Biden again,” Li said. “Prior to that, I was invited to the White House every two to three weeks. There was always some event.”
Li said she had worked closely with top donors, party officials and the Democratic National Committee in her role as a bundler. Her decision to speak publicly, she said, came after she saw what she described as a climate of fear, disorder and secrecy around the president’s reelection bid.
Li also pushed back on Ashley Biden’s statement that she did not know who Li was. Li said the two had met on multiple occasions and provided photographs of them together as proof.
“Doesn’t even pass the smell test,” Li said.
According to Li, her own lawyers were not worried about the lawsuit threat. One attorney, she said, saw potential benefit in legal discovery if the case moved forward.
“My lawyer’s eyes lit up: ‘You want her to use you. The discovery would be incredible,’” Li recalled. “Truth, after all, remains the strongest shield against defamation.”
Li said no lawsuit was ever filed, and she is still waiting to learn what exactly she said that could be considered legally actionable.
“Everything I said was true so. I’m still waiting to hear exactly what I said that is legally actionable,” Li said.
Representatives for Ashley Biden did not respond to a request for comment.
