An emergency plane landing temporarily closed the runway at the Bangor International Airport late Monday morning, an airport official said.

An in-flight emergency on a Swiss Air Lines flight was reported shortly before noon, according to Aimee Thibodeau, a spokesperson for the airport.

The runway was temporarily closed for the landing and for emergency crews to assess the incident. It reopened at about 12:30 p.m., Thibodeau said.

Thibodeau directed further questions to the airline. A Swiss Air spokesperson said additional information would be released Monday afternoon.
