Election candidates should take a look at USPS | Letter

Election candidates should take a look at USPS | Letter
100%

During this election season, everyone has concerns: healthcare, Social Security benefits, the economy and ICE activity. Those are important topics and concerns for everyone in the state and country. I would like to add the concern of the United States Postal Service.

The prices keep going up for the standard first-class stamp, while the delivery of first-class mail service continues to go down.

I can’t believe that a first-class piece of mail would take 13 days to be delivered from New York. In this case, there were two pieces of mail that were sent at the same time, from the same place. The other piece was delivered within four days. Where was the other piece for the extra nine days?

Instead of these candidates spitting in each other’s eye every five minutes on TV with campaign ads, how about them telling us what they are going to do about this mess we have, now, with the Postal Service? The complaints are overwhelming and no one seems to want to take care of the problem.

How about first going back to the way things use to be done? If the mail was handled the old way, I’m sure people wouldn’t be so upset when the price of postage increases.
