Detroit Sisters Arrested After Stabbing Restaurant Worker in Wrong‑Order Dispute

In a violent incident that unfolded on May 30 at a Detroit chicken‑frying establishment, two sisters from the city were taken into custody on multiple assault charges. Brianna Long, 29, and Kierianna Long, 26, are accused of attacking a 23‑year‑old employee after a disputed food order led to a heated exchange that escalated into violence.

The incident began when the sisters entered the restaurant and ran behind the counter to confront the staff. Prosecutors say that the confrontation quickly turned hostile when the sisters demanded a correction to a mis‑served order. According to a statement from the Detroit Police Department, the employee allegedly shouted, “I don’t give a f—,” and then threw knives and other kitchen items toward the sisters, setting the stage for a violent clash.

Witnesses describe how the sisters responded by throwing hot grease, pans, and other kitchen utensils at the employee, chasing her throughout the dining area. One of the women allegedly shouted, “I’m going to kill you,” as she pressed the attack further. Kierianna Long is said to have stabbed the employee in the abdomen with a knife, according to court filings.

The employee was forced to flee the restaurant after the assault and was later found hiding in a stranger’s vehicle while calling for help. She was transported to a local hospital for emergency surgery. The Detroit Medical Center confirmed that the patient sustained a serious abdominal wound but was stabilized following treatment.

Both sisters fled the scene immediately after the attack but were located by police later that evening. Brianna was arrested at a nearby apartment, while Kierianna was taken into custody on the same block, according to police dispatch reports.

In court on Monday, both women entered pleas of not guilty. The Long sisters faced a docket that includes assault with intent to murder, assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, and assault with a dangerous weapon. Their defense attorneys argued that the employee’s hostile actions—throwing knives first—triggered the violence. “The employee’s behavior was the initial catalyst,” the attorneys told the judge.

Brianna, who was nine months pregnant at the time of the incident, had delivered her child just four days before the arraignment. Her attorney cited her pregnancy and the presence of a newborn as mitigating circumstances when seeking bail. The court set a $25,000 cash bond for Brianna and a $100,000 cash bond for Kierianna, both of whom are scheduled to appear in court again for sentencing.

Police statements do not yet include any admissions or statements from the sisters. The case is currently pending further investigation and additional charges may be filed as prosecutors review video footage and additional evidence from the restaurant.

The incident has sparked renewed discussion among Detroit residents about the safety of dining establishments and the need for better staff training in handling customer complaints. City officials have urged restaurants to reinforce conflict‑resolution protocols and to ensure employees feel secure while on the job. The Long sisters’ case remains a stark reminder of how quickly a seemingly routine customer service issue can spiral into a violent confrontation.
