William D. "Bill" Chard, a longtime Scarborough resident, died on May 23 at the age of 85.
Born and raised in southern Maine, Chard lived a full life in the community he called home for decades. Those who knew him remember him as a man of steady character and quiet warmth.
Friends and family will have an opportunity to pay their respects during a visitation scheduled for June 3 from noon to 3 p.m. at A.T. Hutchins funeral home in Portland. A memorial service honoring Chard will follow the same day at 3 p.m. at the same location.
