Death Notice: Ruth Baker

The Portland Press Herald has posted a brief death notice for Ruth Baker on its online obituaries platform. The notice, titled “Death Notice: Ruth Baker,” was published at 1:01 a.m. on October 2, 2026. It appears in the newspaper’s “Death Notices” section and includes only a small portrait image—likely a Gravatar avatar—alongside the headline. No additional biographical information, obituaries details, or personal remarks are supplied in the online entry.

The entry is surrounded by the usual digital‑news framework: prompts to share the article on Facebook, Nextdoor, Bluesky, LinkedIn, X (formerly Twitter), and email, as well as subscription information encouraging readers to purchase a Press Herald subscription for unlimited article gifting. Navigation links point to the previous obituary for Carol Anne Doele and the next for George Adams Gilmore, indicating the routine flow of local death notices.

While the brief notice offers no direct quotes or details about Ruth Baker’s life, family, or place of death, it illustrates the standard format used by many community newspapers for short death notices. These notices often rely on funeral home or family submissions to provide essential facts—such as name, age, and funeral details—that are typically shared in fuller obituaries or memorial articles elsewhere.

At present, the online record contains only the headline and posting time, leaving the broader community to anticipate additional information that may appear in a more complete obituary or in the funeral home’s own announcement. The Press Herald’s online platform remains a primary venue for families to share bereavement notices and for readers to honor those who have passed.
