Death Notice: Reta Louise Leighton

Reta Louise Leighton, a longtime resident of both Scarborough and Yarmouth, passed away on June 14 at the age of 97.

Leighton was born and raised in the Yarmouth area, where she developed deep roots in the community that would remain throughout her long life. She eventually made her home in Scarborough, where she resided for many years, though she never lost her connection to her hometown.

Friends and family are invited to honor her memory at a memorial service scheduled for June 26 at 11 a.m. The gathering will take place at First Parish Congregational Church in Yarmouth, a venue that held significance throughout her life.
