Lisbon Man Arrested on Trafficking and Possession Charges After Overnight Crash

A resident of Lisbon, Maine, was taken into custody by local police on Sunday night on multiple trafficking and possession charges after officers responded to a vehicle crash that occurred during the early morning hours.

Police from the Lisbon Police Department, with assistance from the Maine State Police, arrived on the scene around 2 a.m. at the intersection of Main Street and Route 16. According to the initial incident report, the crash involved two cars that collided head‑on, leaving the vehicles heavily damaged. During their investigation, officers found evidence that led them to suspect the driver was involved in the trafficking of controlled substances and the possession of illegal items.

The suspect, whose name has not yet been released by authorities, was arrested at the scene and taken to the Penobscot County Jail. He faces charges that include trafficking in controlled substances and possession of prohibited items. The case has been assigned to the Penobscot County District Attorney’s Office, and the suspect is scheduled for arraignment in the coming days.

Maine law requires individuals arrested on trafficking and possession charges to be processed through the local judicial system. The arrest is part of an ongoing effort by state and local law enforcement to address drug trafficking and related offenses in the region.

The Lisbon Police Department has not released a statement detailing the circumstances of the crash beyond what has been reported by the department’s press release. No injuries were reported in the incident, and both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Residents of Lisbon can remain assured that law‑enforcement officials are continuing their investigation into the matter. The city is offering a reminder that any information that may help with the investigation should be reported to the Lisbon Police Department or the Penobscot County District Attorney’s Office.
