Costco's New Honey Sesame Chicken Stir Fry Sparks Serving Size Debate

A popular Instagram influencer is raving about a new Costco meal kit, but many social media users are pushing back on one key claim.

@costcohotfinds, who boasts 3.5 million followers and clarifies she has no affiliation with the bulk retailer, recently posted a video showcasing Costco's Honey Sesame Chicken Stir Fry. The meal kit includes breaded chicken, noodles, vegetables, and two packets of honey sesame sauce. The influencer, who says the dish is not yet available at all Costco locations, gave it high marks.

"The amount of chicken you get in it is insane," she said in the video. "This will easily feed five, and mine was only $22."

The influencer walked viewers through her preparation method: baking the chicken in the oven while cooking the noodles and vegetables on the stovetop, then tossing everything together with the honey sesame sauce.

"The chicken came out so crunchy," she said. "The honey sesame sauce on this is amazing. I can't wait to have this one again — probably this weekend."

The $22 price point and the claim that the meal could satisfy five people quickly drew scrutiny from the online community.

"That would only feed my husband and my eldest son," one commenter wrote.

"I guess me and my husband identify as five people, because that would just about feed us," another person observed, adding a laughing-face emoji.
