Concerned by pro-Susan Collins and pro-Trump bias | Letter
100%

I would like to voice my concern with the subtle manner in which the editors of these papers seem to inject a positive bias toward Sen. Susan Collins and President Donald Trump.

It is not obvious, but on a daily basis on the front page there are banners of Collins being endorsed or quoting her disapproval of a Trump policy, even though it has no bearing on her track record. The same could be said with banners or titles of articles that quote Trump making statements that are factually false or laced with his usual aggrandizement and embellishment, where his track record is one of meaningless promises, fabrication and obfuscation.

It is one thing for the paper to describe factual issues and another to parrot the spin doctor of the current administration and majority party.

One can only feel that the incredible amount of money being funded to this state for this election cycle through dark money organizations/individuals are affecting the information that everyday citizens see when trying to understand their choices this November.

I would suggest that there should be a disclaimer by the paper of large-font statements, if those statement describe a promise or a policy that never will see the light of day or have been repeated multiple times without proof that they reflect reality.
