Collins is no help in battling Trump-fueled chaos | Letter

The advertisements for Sen. Susan Collins are intentionally deceptive. The ads tout Collins’ “stable hand” after the “chaos” of Sept. 11, 2001. The chaos did not begin in 2001; it began in 2025 with the inauguration of Donald J. Trump.
That chaos includes: wild and unpredictable tariffs on friend and foe alike, which raised prices for American consumers; illegal abductions of foreign leaders; verbal attacks and threats on our closest friends and allies; secret police kidnapping and murder in our streets; and an unnecessary and vastly expensive war on Iran, which has driven inflation up even further, with no end in sight.
Trump is the Republican Party leader, and president of the United States. Susan Collins is a Republican, and has done scant little to rein in Trump’s unabated thirst for power and control at the expense of our rights and the Constitution. Susan is of no help against chaos.
I am less worried about Collins’ past, and more worried about her future. We don’t need the faux democracy of Russia or China that Trump is creating; we need a champion to oppose and depose Donald Trump.
Troy Jackson is the choice available to defeat Susan Collins. Troy is a working person, like most of us; he knows the issues average people face, and will work to make our government work for our benefit. Troy Jackson is a fighting man; he will not be beholden to Trump the way our current Republican senator is.
Campaign and vote for Troy Jackson!
