UFC 331: Joshua Van defends flyweight crown against veteran Alexandre Pantoja on Sept. 19
A new UFC card is shaping up to be a showcase for both high‑stakes competition and fan‑friendly promotions. UFC 331 will take place on Saturday, September 19, 2026, and the main event will pit flyweight champion Joshua Van against former champion Alexandre Pantoja in a rematch that many analysts are calling a “tightly contested” bout.
The fighters
Joshua Van – the 17‑year‑old from Minnesota – comes into the fight with a 17‑2‑0 record, featuring 9‑1 knock‑outs or technical knock‑outs. A freestyle fighter known for his explosive striking, Van won his two most recent fights by KO/TKO, including a victory over Pantoja in their first encounter.
Alexandre Pantoja – the 47‑year‑old Brazilian‑American – holds a 30‑6‑0 record. He has earned 12 submission wins and 8 KO/TKO finishes, and is best known for his Brazilian Jiu‑Jitsu prowess. Pantoja’s last outing was on December 6, 2025, when he lost the flyweight title to Van.
