Brand new No. 1 in final Varsity Maine girls lacrosse poll of 2026

This is the Golden Trojans’ first time topping the poll. Of the teams who finish spring 2026 at the top of one of the four [Varsity](https://www.sunjournal.com/2026/06/23/falmouth-finishes-no-1-in-final-varsity-maine-boys-lacrosse-poll/) [Maine](https://www.sunjournal.com/2026/06/23/no-1-in-varsity-maine-softball-poll-goes-the-distance-in-2026/) [polls](https://www.sunjournal.com/2026/06/23/no-change-at-the-top-in-final-varsity-maine-baseball-poll-of-2026/), Thornton is the only one to to have not been ranked No. 1 at some point earlier in the season. Kennebunk is the only other team to be ranked No. 1 this spring.
