Biddeford’s Banded Brewing Co. to close at summer’s end

Banded Brewing Co. announced on Friday that it would cease operations at the end of this summer.
The Biddeford-based brewery’s last day of regular operations is scheduled to be Aug. 31, the company said in a social media post.
“Unfortunately, the past several years have brought significant and sustained challenges to many independent brewers like us,” the post says. “Despite the continued support of our customers and community, we have reached a point where continuing operations is no longer sustainable.”
Banded Brewing opened 13 years ago and has contributed a wide range of beers to Maine shelves, from IPAs and sours to pilsners and stouts. The brewery closed its Portland tasting room in 2023 to focus its resources on the Biddeford taproom, located at 32 Main St.

“Thank you to every person who has walked through our doors, ordered a beer, shared a meal, attended an event, brought their family and friends, supported a fundraiser, bought a four-pack, recommended us to an out-of-town visitor, or simply chose to spend some time with us,” Banded Brewing said in its post, also thanking the Biddeford community at large as well as its staff. “Banded would never have become what it is without you.”
The brewery said it plans “to make the most of every minute” of its last summer in operation.
“We still have one last summer together. Let’s make it a good one!”
