Bayou Kitchen 2 in North Deering closes

Bayou Kitchen 2 has permanently closed, according to a brief announcement on Facebook.
The breakfast/lunch restaurant, a North Deering offshoot of the popular Woodfords Corner breakfast/brunch spot, closed earlier this year. Bayou Kitchen 2 opened in February 2024, having licensed the menu and recipes from the original spot, according to Samuel Eakin, the owner of the restaurant as well as the adjacent Cherished Possessions consignment shop.
In May, a Facebook posting said that a sushi restaurant would be replacing the Cajun restaurant.
The consignment shop, at 64 Auburn Street, remains open. Eakin was not immediately reachable for further details.
