Paintings by former President George W. Bush will be on display Aug. 6 during a one-day exhibition at the University of New England’s Biddeford campus.
St. Ann’s Episcopal Church of Kennebunkport is hosting the event, featuring a curated collection of Bush’s original paintings.

The Bush family has attended services at St. Ann’s Church for decades while spending time at the family’s Walker’s Point compound.

Proceeds from the exhibition will support the preservation of the historic stone chapel known for its views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Bush starting painting in 2012, inspired by Winston Churchill’s essay “Painting as a Pastime.”
Themes of his work reflect faith, family, freedom and community.
