Angry about ICE, I will vote for Troy Jackson | Letter

Sen. Susan Collins has often held press conferences or ribbon-cutting ceremonies to commemorate funding she has acquired for various purposes in Maine. I am so looking forward to learning how she is going to celebrate appropriating funding for an agency — ICE — that is using that funding to purchase electric “shock gloves” designed to immobilize and inflict pain on civilians.

Sen. Collins can no longer hide from the consequences of her action and inaction in the U.S. Senate. Voters are increasingly aware of the impact of her votes, both in committee and on the floor of the Senate.

Vague “assurances” no longer make us feel safe or well represented. It’s long past time for a new senator. Troy Jackson will be my choice in November.
