Among the guests at Taylor Swift’s wedding? Maine’s Drew Taggart of The Chainsmokers

At least one Mainer got invited to the wedding of the century.
Freeport native Drew Taggart, half of the electronic music duo The Chainsmokers, was a guest at the Madison Square Garden wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce on Friday, according to multiple reports.

A photo on the The Chainsmokers’ Instagram account over the weekend showed Taggart and his musical partner, Alex Pall, wearing tuxedos and holding champagne glasses. The caption read, “New York has too much to celebrate!”

Several outlets compiling the names of celebrity guests at the wedding listed The Chainsmokers, including The New York Times and E News. The Chainsmokers worked with Swift on a club remix of her song “The Fate of Ophelia” in 2025. When the collaboration was announced, The Chainsmokers posted on Instagram “This is truly and honor ?? we love u T.”
Just a few days before Swift and Kelce’s New York City wedding, The Chainsmokers had performed at the Palm Tree Music Festival in Southampton, New York, on Long Island. The duo featured videos from that festival on the same post as their tuxedo photo.
Taggart is a 2008 graduate of Freeport High School. While there, he created electronic music as his senior project. After high school, Taggart enrolled in a music business program at Syracuse University and later got an internship at Interscope Records, before starting to deejay and create electronic music.
He paired with Pall and began deejaying in New York City clubs. The duo’s big break came in 2014 with the parody tune “#Selfie” about self-absorbed club-goers. The hit led to a recording contract. The duo won a best dance recording Grammy Award in 2017 for “Don’t Let Me Down,” featuring Daya.
Since then the duo has toured around the world. They are currently on tour in Europe, with upcoming shows in Belgium and Germany.
