3 arrested in Scarborough for alleged speeding, fleeing police in stolen car

Three juveniles were arrested in Scarborough on Saturday after they allegedly attempted to flee from police, first in a vehicle stolen from Pownal, and then on foot, police say.
About 8:06 a.m., Saco police officers driving on Portland Road attempted to pull over the vehicle, a silver Toyota Prius, for speeding. The juvenile driving the car ignored the cruiser’s blue lights and sirens and continued into Scarborough, police say. Scarborough police located the car on Stewart Drive and determined that it had been reported stolen to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.
Police found the three suspects after they had fled the scene and took them into custody, authorities say. The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office returned the vehicle to its owner.
The identities of the juveniles and other details on the ongoing investigation have not been released.
